See below for writing activities. Reading: 15 minutes of i-Ready Reading & 30 minutes of reading (Reading Log) each night You will write about the following:
1. You are shipwrecked on an island. Write about how you survive and how you are rescued. 2. As a royal explorer, write a letter back to the Queen describing your voyage to the New World and the new lands you are claiming. 3. You work on a ship bringing gold from a New World. Write a story about how your ship successfully defends itself against a pirate attack.

![]() Writing: Scholars will carefully read the passage "Scary Spiders" and use the RACE strategy to answer the question. Remember to cite using details from the text and elaborate on your response. Reading: Scholars will log their reading daily and choose an appetizer, main course, and dessert to complete on the "October" activity sheet.
Health: Scholars will cut, fold and following the directions for the "Kindness Catcher" (see download above). In addition, students will complete the "Do You Bully?" (received Monday) and return this activity on WEDNESDAY. Reading Log: Please document that you have read for 30 minutes each night. Parents, don't forget to initial each night that your scholar reads. Due Friday "Remember September" (see download below) is this weeks' reading homework.
